Yep, only 3 weeks to go. All that snow in Baltimore area had better be melted by then! We hope to be in that area for our first night on the road. I guess I better make sure the furnace in the motorhome is working properly!
That's one of the benefits of having a part time job at an RV dealership. It's pretty handy to have the service technicians available for free advice. And parts are cheap too! But, we've never had jobs where we got what many people consider to be normal "benefits" like pension plans or regular wage increases, or paid time off for sick leave...so we enjoy the benefits that we do get. Ruth worked part time at a wine making shop in the fall...she brought home lots of nice benefits!
Anyhow, we watched another DVD tonight. We subscribe to zip.ca here in Canada...it's something like netflicks in the states. The movie we got today was called "Wanted" with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. It was probably the most unrealistic movie I've ever seen...and yet it was entertaining just the same. I like Morgan Freeman. He's one of my favorite actors.
Paula and Jerry, an RV'ing couple that we know, are supposed to be near Puerto Escondido in Mexico. We stayed there last February, and made friends with a local Mexican family at the time. We had wanted to keep in touch with this Mexican family, but they live in a rural area and don't have access to a phone or internet. We did in fact receive one email shortly after we left them last year, but haven't heard from them since. So Jerry and Paula said that they would stop in and communicate our message to them, but now we haven't heard from Jerry and Paula for a while, and I thought we would have by now. Maybe they got sidetracked like we did at the time! We were only planning on stopping overnight, and we ended up staying for 8 days. We were even asked to be in a local wedding ceremony!
When we hear from Paula and Jerry, we'll try and remember to update everyone.
