Cavendish KOA Campground

Saturday, June 28…10:30pm

Weather was slightly better today. No rain, but still overcast and cool in the morning. The sun actually tried to peek out in the afternoon a few times, and Ruth put shorts on at one point. Quite a few kids made it into the swimming pool, but that`s not really an indicator of what the weather is like!

We showed up at the kids club for our 10am work session. The lady running it is really good with the kids, and Ruth helped out with the crafts and things, but I wasn`t really necessary. I think kids club is something Ruth will have to do on her own…it`s not really my thing!

I got Sherman`s “Add-a-Room” hooked up outside. The only thing that concerns me is what happens when it’s windy, but I guess I’ll find out tomorrow because they’re calling for a windy day!

We weren’t scheduled to do any more work today, but around 5pm Vic drove up in his golf cart asking if we could do the wagon ride tonight because his regular Saturday guy couldn’t make it. No problem, so off I went with Vic to learn the route and how to drive the tractor. Nothing to it. And so at 6:45 or so Ruth and I went over and got the tractor and wagon, and drove it over to the loading area. There are a ton of kids here now, and the wagon must have had about 50 people on it by the time it was full. In fact, we had to do a second run because there were so many who wanted to get on. But it was fun. I drove, while Ruth stayed in the wagon as supervisor. We do it again tomorrow night.
